Quarto Dia

Composition and Performance: Adam T. Torres

Audio & Video Recording: Joe Oakes

Composition and Performance: Adam T. Torres Audio & Video Recording: Joe Oakes For solo piano, Quarto Dia had a compositional process that was simplistic, improvisatory, and intuitive in nature and this process I believe, is what is at the heart of the piece. The title is a reference both to this process, and to the titles appearance in biblical texts. While I don’t subject the piece to any religious connotation, I do like the imagery that on the fourth day, the sun, the moon, and the stars were created.
